Django looks awesome. Adrian Holovaty has a strong background with web developing for newspapers. His presentations shows you the simplicity of creating a weblog, cms, news-systems and many other apps with Django. The admin framework of Django is stunning. I guess non coder loves this presentation too.
David Heinemeier Hansson did not a "Ruby on Rails" introduction because most people already know it. His presentation was more about the "beauty in ruby on rails code". A lot of code snippet durings his talk but at the end an awesome video about an upcoming application called
fluxiom. Direct link to the
fluxiom video. "Fluxiom is a web-based knowledge management tool. It is an easy and elegant way for small to medium sized teams to manage digital assets and share them with clients, partners and co-workers." It's made with ruby on rails.
If you look for ruby on rails introduction then check out
