I use Twitter instead of Facebook because Twitter is more like Unix. It's just one simple application. It's slim and easy where facebook is more like windows. It tries to be everything.

Best Imap client ever is freeware!

Mulberry has become freeware. It's a must have for IMAP addicted user like me. There are binaries available for Linux, Windows and OSX. This clients support sieve filtering on server side. You can apply localy created sieve rules to your server (cyrus imapd by example). It has an integrated calender with webdav support, speeling check in several languages and an addressbook. It supports the OSX nativ addressbook out of the box.
Mulberry the most powerfull imap mail client I've ever seen. Not even thunderbird comes close to mullbery. Only the GUI itself looks a bit antiquated.
A few months ago I tried to purchase mulberry but the company got bankruped. Finaly the developer Cyrus Daboo got the source code back and offeres mulberry as freeware Perhaps one time it will be opensource too.

Static OSX page offline and server too

My static osx page is offline at the moment. I'm working on it.
The server will be offline next Friday. I will move the server to a new location.

Update: My static OSX App page is online. I still have problem with the static page plugin with s9y bleeding edge cvs code. But I could fix this issue with a workaround.

As you see I changed my theme for this blog once more. It's just the first step of lot of changes in the near future.

First of all I will come up with more BSD releated entries in the future. More technical articles for BSD Users. It's something I wanted to do a long time ago. I still will write short articles about Apple or publish links to IT news which I'm interested in but less as in the past.

I barly published personal feelings and opinion in my blog. I'll will open a second, more personal blog soon. I'm interested to share a lot of my opinions with other people. It will be much easier to express feelings or opinions in my native tongue. I thought about mixing german and english article but at the moment I think a second personal blog in german will be the better solution. We will see. I will make my final decision at the end of this weekend.

If you have some advice or ideas please write a comment.

Bloodhound Gang concert

Erich, Sweeper, Jen and myself went to the Bloodhoundgang concert at the Kofmehl club in Solothurn. The show started with the supporting group "Rock Hard Power Spray" from Denmark. A mix of hard rock and punk. It's not my type of style but the show was ok.
The Bloodhound gang was pretty cool. A good, crazy show with rocking music! It was my first time in the new kofmehl building and definitely not my last time

Grounding

This evenig I watched the swiss movie Grounding in a cinema in Solothurn with genox. It's a mixture of real documentation, geniously played characters and fictional story lines. A national disaster with a lot of questions behind it, is now a lot clearer. Who's fault was it, that on this octoberday in 2001 the planes of the proud Swissair were grounded? The movie does not tell this in a final way, but leads you to an opinion, which could be new to the audience. But as a said, it's not 100% clear whats based on facts and whats fiction.
It's very well acted and thrilling. Go and buy your cinema ticket!

King Kong is great

I didn't plan to watch King Kong in the past. I thought it's just another boring remake.
I was completly wrong. Yes it's a remake but it's still a fantastic blockbuster with a good cast and great special effects. As an example, the fight between King Kong and 3 T-Rex is stunning. Of course the movie does not glistens with a superb screenplay or heartbreaking dialogs and sometimes it looks like Jurassic Park. But who cares? As Picasso said: "Good artists copy great artists steal." As long as it is good, i don't care
King Kong is popcorn movie as it's best. Watch it in a cinema near your. You will get 187mins of action and fun. It's just great entertainment. Nothing more but nothing less.
